| Applicants to the program are screened to
determine the program's suitability to effectively meet their needs. Potential clients
need to acknowledge their substance
abuse issues and be willing to make lifestyle changes. Some
clients may also have mild to moderate mental health issues. The
application process consists of completion of the standardized
addiction assessment package at a community agency, a telephone
screening with Alwood, and forwarding any requested collaborative
reports. This information is reviewed to determine an
appropriate client/treatment match. The last step in
the screening process is a personal interview that is scheduled at
Alwood.
